My Horizons are Expanding

Book signing went well and I saw some old friends and met some new ones.  I’ve received wonderful feedback from several people who I signed books for.  What a thrill and I highly recommend book signings for anyone who is planning to launch a book.  I wanted to  let you know that I’m expanding my horizons in some new areas and I’m extremely excited.  First, I am a contributing author for Speaking Your Truth: Courageous Stories From Inspiring Women Volume 2, which is launching August 9, 2011. Lisa Shultz and Andrea Costantine have done a fabulous job once again compiling heartfelt stories from dozens of women for Volume 2.  For more information go to www.speakingyourtruthbook.com. My chapter is called Finding My Gift and it is the process and ultimate discovery of my gift of poetry.  Second, I am finalizing a workshop called Five Hearts to Writing Poetry.  It provides 5 simple steps to writing poetry and is intended for people who have never written poetry as well as those who have been writing for years. I anticipate I will be scheduling my first workshop this summer.  Third, my other books are progressing and I continue to write poetry almost daily.  Finally, my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter will be back in Colorado in the next few months.  We’ve started our baby proofing lists since they will staying with us for at least a few months.  Any recommendations on books or resources for baby proofing a house are greatly appreciated.  So as you can see my horizons are expanding.  Here’s a poem I was inspired to write about Spring; however, here in Colorado there are days like today that seem wintery still.

Spring is in the Air

Spring is in the Air
Flowers blossoming everywhere
Colors on display
Magnificent array

New creations all around
Nature flourishes and abounds
Gaze at the beauty of the sky
Touch and feel growth of life

Awaken to exquisite sights
Vibrant visions do delight
Energize each special being
Knowledge of a brand new season

Longing for warmer days
More time to go outside and play
Excitement to finally be here
Enjoy and be without a care

Spring is in the Air
Surrounded by splendor everywhere
Happy to be alive
Watching nature grow and thrive
