I’m thrilled to say I have a Book Signing for my new book Bring Poetry into Your Life scheduled on Wendesday, May 4th from Noon – 1 p.m. at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus Bookstore.  This is going to be a great event and many people have already told me they are stopping by to pick up a book for themselves or in some cases their Mother for Mother’s Day.   At the same time, I’m working on two more books that I plan to launch in 2011. Today I finished an outline  for a poetry writing workshop – Five Hearts to Writing Poetry.  My goal is to schedule my first workshop this summer and I’m looking forward to working with others who would either like to expand their poetry or write poetry for the first time.
At the same time, we are in preparation for our daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter to return to Colorado from South Africa.  We can’t wait to see them  and since they will be staying with us at least initially, we will need to do some baby proofing.  If anyone has a good book or reference for baby proofing a house, let me know. As we begin May and springtime, it always makes me think about the most delightful things in life.  For me that’s being outdoors, colorful flowers and buds blooming on trees, clear skies, new life and family and friends.  So on May 1st I wrote the following poem.  Hope you enjoy it!
One Year in Life
Brings growth and perspective
Challenges may happen
Love and joy certainly can
One month in life
Special occasions take place
Events filled with friends
A season may end
One week in life
Moves rather quickly
Time flashes by
So much to do
One day in life
Twenty four hours
From dawn to dusk
Everything’s a must
One moment in life
Value each instant
Pause and take pleasure
Be in the present
